SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Ten people, including the driver, received injuries after a vehicle collision occurred in downtown San Francisco, Friday afternoon.
San Francisco General Hospital officials say they are treating five patients from Friday afternoon’s crash at a Chinatown bus stop, four of whom are listed in serious condition.
According to the San Francisco fire department, the accident occurred around 12:49 p.m. in the 800 block of Stockton Street, near Chinatown. The vehicle, a small gray sedan, collided into the bus stop injuring ten people.

Police said, three vehicles were involved in the accident, two occupied and the other unoccupied. Two people suffered life-threatening injuries, and eight people are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Crews are on the scene, and fire personnel have asked the public to avoid the area for some time as it will be shut down for several hours.

Fire Battalion Chief Paul Crawford said injuries among those struck included a number of broken legs and other broken bones as well as head and back injuries.
Five people total suffered major injuries. One of the cars hit was unoccupied.
Patients were taken to several different area hospitals. Of the five taken to San Francisco General Hospital, four were women and one was a man, hospital spokesman Brent Andrew said. Their ages ranged from the mid-30s to the 80s.
Four were listed in serious condition, Andrew said.
The other six suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to Officer Gatpandan of SFPD.
No arrest was reported this afternoon and police indicated the driver was cooperating with investigators. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
