(BCN) — A victim was airlifted to a hospital after three suspects attacked him Sunday night near Greenfield, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

At 8:27 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an injury crash with a vehicle on Arroyo Seco Road, sheriff’s officials said.

When deputies arrived, they discovered the victim was not involved in a crash, but instead had been attacked by the male suspects.

The victim, a Greenfield resident, had large cuts to his lower legs and was taken to a hospital for treatment, sheriff’s officials said.

No information on the suspects was immediately available.
