MARTINEZ (KRON) — A woman had to be re-arrested Monday morning when she began destroying cars in the Martinez Detention Facility parking lot after she was released, according to police.

Chelsy Ginochio, 35, was released from the MDF at 1000 Ward Street around 5:30 a.m.

As soon as she was released, Ginochio began vandalizing multiple cars in the main parking lot of the jail.

A deputy sheriff heard the smashing of windows and police were notified. Deputies were able to detain the 35-year-old Antioch resident, who tried resisting the officers.

Five vehicles were vandalized. The vandalism included smashed front and rear windows, scratched glass, and broken windshield wipers.

One deputy injured his right knee during the arrest.

Ginochio was originally arrested for misdemeanor vandalism. She was apparently throwing rocks at cars and a hospital door, while stating that she wanted to go to jail.

The woman is currently back at MDF on vandalism and probation violation charges. Her bail is set at $20,000.
