LAKE COUNTY (KRON) — Satellite photos taken by NASA show the staggering devastation left by the Valley Fire.
There are obvious burn scars, especially around Harbin Hot Springs, Cobb and Middletown.
The burned areas are highlighted in dark red and orange. Buildings appear white and unburned forests come out gray.
The photos from space were taken by infrared cameras on a NASA satellite as it passed over Lake County on Monday.
The Valley Fire is 85 percent contained, as of Thursday afternoon. Four people have been confirmed dead, and one man is still missing.
