GEYSERVILLE (KRON) — Lake Sonoma is offering free camping to displaced residents of the Valley Fire, which has charred over 67,000 acres.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the lake are offering free access to 50 campsites at the Liberty Ground campground, according to Army Corp spokesman J.D. Hardesty.
In addition to free camping, Lake Sonoma is offering displaced residents free water, bathrooms, and showers in selected areas, Hardesty said.
On Monday, the Army Corps offered free access to Lake Mendocino’s Bushay Campground and its 136 campsites for residents of Lake and Napa counties.
