VALLEJO (KRON) — Vallejo police have identified a woman fatally shot in a car Tuesday afternoon as 25-year old Gina Estevez of Daly City.
Estevez and a male were traveling in a vehicle south of Broadway Street near Louisiana Street around 3:35 p.m. when they heard several gunshots, Vallejo police Lt. Herman Robinson said.
They kept driving for about 10 blocks when the male noticed Estevez was wounded. They pulled over at Alameda and Capitol streets, where they summoned aid, Robinson said.
Estevez was taken to a hospital, where she did of her wounds. The male was treated for minor injuries and released, Robinson said.
The male said he did not see anyone shooting at the vehicle, and a description of the suspect or suspects was not immediately available, Robinson said.
Police served a search warrant at a “residence of interest” in the 100 block of Broadway Street around 8:45 p.m. but it was not occupied at the time, Robinson said.
