Christmas is a few days away and people are trying to find their last minute goodies, even if that means stealing them.
Police say a 28-year-old man tried to put a damper on a Pittsburg family’s holiday Friday night, but he picked the wrong house to steal from.
The suspect, 28-year-old Jose Gonzales, was looking for packages to steal in the neighborhood, officers say.
He swiped a package from the porch of one home, but little did he know it had been placed there by Pittsburg police.
The package contained a tracking device, and soon as Gonzales picked it up, an alert was sent to police which led them right to his location.
He was subsequently arrested and booked into jail.
