BERKELEY (KRON) — UC Berkeley’s chancellor is forming a committee on sexual violence, harrassment, and assault.

It follows a series of highly publicized sexual harrassment and assault cases against students, staff, and faculty. Those incidents include the recent suspension of an assistant Cal basketball coach Yann Hufnagel.

Also, UC Berkeley Law School Dean Sujit Choudhry resigned after his executive assistant sued him for repeatedly kissing and touching her. Astronomy Prof. Geoff Marcy stepped down in Oct. 2015 after four students accused him of harassment.

And former UC Berkeley Vice Chancellor Graham Fleming resigned last year after his former assistant accused him of sexual harassment.

The committee will examine and address culture issues and recommend ways to improve all campus services, policies, and practices.
