U.C. Berkeley student hospitalized after sexually assaulted

BERKELEY (KRON) — A U.C. Berkeley student is in the hospital after being sexually assaulted about a week ago, campus police said Saturday.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 27, the girl was walking home from the Downtown Berkeley BART station. This is when a man attacked and attempted to rape her, according to police. She fought back and was able to get away. However, there is no information about possible injuries or the exact cause of her hospitalization.


The exact location of the assault is also unknown, but the incident was reported to university police by campus security.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30’s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing 220 pounds with a muscular build. He has short, light brown hair and stubble. He was wearing a flat-billed, black baseball hat with “SF” lettering in white stitching. He had on dark jeans, dark shoes, and a plain white T-shirt under a black and red flannel shirt.

The suspect did not appear to be homeless, police said.
