(KRON) KRON4’s Weather Team is tracking the season’s first major storm system. The first of two storms is hitting Friday morning with additional waves hitting through the weekend.
Typhoon Songda is sending an atmospheric river at the Bay Area.
The strongest wave will arrive Friday. It will begin in the North Bay and move south across the Bay Area by Friday afternoon.KRON4’S INTERACTIVE RADAR
Saturday, look for an uptick on winds by the afternoon with showers and rain developing into the evening and night.
Sunday looks more like a washout, with rain and heavy bouts of rain intermittent through the day and night. Winds will also come and go through the period.
This will push up total rain totals for the weekend, with several inches over the Bay and North Bay potentially 5 inches.
