SANTA ROSA (BCN) — Two 16-year-old suspects were arrested in Santa Rosa Tuesday, after an attempted robbery with a replica firearm, according to police.

Police said officers responded to the area of First and A Streets at 1:50 p.m. on reports of an armed robbery at the Prince Memorial Greenway.

A juvenile victim told officers he had approached the two male suspects asking them if they had any marijuana for purchase.

The victim told officers the suspects said they had no marijuana and brandished what appeared to be a handgun, demanding all of his money.

According to police, the victim complied with the suspects and handed over all of his cash before running away in fear of being shot.

Officers were able to quickly locate the two juveniles on South A Street matching the description given by the victim, and the pair were detained.

Police said one of the suspects had a black BB gun in a backpack that looked like a semi-automatic handgun.

The juveniles, both 16 years in age, were booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of robbery.
