Solano County (KRON) — Two 17-year-old Solano County boys have been arrested on suspicion of carrying a sawed-off shotgun in Vallejo according to the sheriff’s deputy. A citizen reported seeing the boys with the gun early Monday morning near Lemon Street and Benicia Road, said Deputy Darryl Snedeker.

One of the boys–who was wearing a backpack–fled when deputies approached them, but later returned, without the backpack.

According to deputies, they later found the backpack with the sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun on the roof of a nearby residence. The gun wasn’t loaded, but according to police, ammunition was found close by.

One of the teens was on probation and was booked for resisting arrest and for possessing an illegal firearm.

The other teen was booked for resisting arrest, possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a sawed-off shotgun and conspiracy, Snedeker said.
