CUPERTINO (KRON) — Two suspects were arrested Sunday in connection with an armed home invasion in Cupertino, according to police.

At around 10:34 p.m., police received a 911 call reporting a home invasion in the 21000 block of Regnart Road.

The victim told dispatch that two armed strangers were inside the home stealing jewelry and cash.

One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and the other had a knife, the victim told dispatch.

The suspects tried to hide their identities using hooded sweatshirts. However, the victim was able to provide rough descriptions to the dispatcher.

Upon arrival, a deputy saw a car speeding away from the residence.

The deputy pursued the vehicle into a residential court and made a vehicle enforcement stop.

The occupants in the vehicle matched the description provided by the victim. Deputies also found a loaded 9mm handgun, cash, and jewelry in the car.

Police arrested 20-year-old Yasindu Desilva of Santa Clara and 21-year old Jacks Atiba of Sunnyvale.

Investigators are actively working this case to see if these suspects are responsible for similar acts.
