MILPITAS (KRON)—Two suspects who are accused of robbing a Milpitas couple have been arrested Thursday.

The incident happened around 10:20 p.m. when the couple drove into their garage after shopping.

Two suspects followed them home and stole the woman’s gold necklace and her purse.

The man tried to intervene, but the two suspects confronted him. The suspects assaulted him and stole his bracelet and necklace.

The two men left in a 1999 gold Lexus RX 300 SUV.

The Milpitas Police Department conducted an investigation and identified Lawrence Edward Thomas of Oakland as one of the suspects.

Officers obtained a $155,000 warrant for Thomas’ arrest.

Thomas was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. He has been charged with robbery, burglary, and battery.

Milpitas police were also able to identify Jake William Otis Baker Jr. of Oakland as a second suspect in the case.

Detectives obtained a $200,000 warrant for Baker’s arrest.

Baker turned himself in to the Oakland Police Department on Sept. 29. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on robbery.
