(KRON)—The California Highway Patrol has confirmed they have received reports of two shootings on Sunday in the East Bay.
The first shooting happened in Concord after 5 p.m. on Highway 242 north of Solano Way.
Two black male victims were inside a black Mercedes sedan at the time of the shooting. An unknown suspect left the scene and kept driving.
CHP arrived at the Valero gas station on Grant Avenue next to Highway 242 and contacted the two victims. One of them was shot and his injuries are non-life threatening.
The southbound lanes on Highway 242 are shut down for three and quarters of a mile between the Grant Avenue exit and Highway 4. CHP decided to do this so they can continue their investigation.
Anyone has information about the shooting is asked to call the CHP at (800) 835-5247.
The second shooting was reported around 11 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80 near Carlson Boulevard in Oakland, said Sean Wilkenfled of CHP Oakland.
One vehicle was struck. No injuries were reported and the people involved in the shooting are cooperating with the investigation.Stay with KRON4 News for updates on this developing story.
