SAN RAFAEL (BCN) — Undercover officers issued citations at two San Rafael businesses for allegedly selling alcohol to minors during a sting operation on Saturday,
police said Wednesday.
Officers working with two underage buyers, ages 15 and 18, targeted 27 establishments that sell alcohol on Saturday.
Citations were issued at Taqueria Cancun at 2224 Fourth Street and Andy’s Market at 688 Point San Pedro Road.
During these operations, the decoy cannot lie about their age, and must provide their identification to the establishment if asked, police said.
If the seller fails to check their identification, or checks their identification and sells the decoy alcohol anyway, police issue a citation.
The San Rafael Police Department has conducted 20 of these operations since 2013.
