WALNUT CREEK (KRON) — A car hit two pedestrians on Interstate 680 as they were trying to cross the highway after a crash in Walnut Creek Tuesday morning, according to police.
The initial crash was reported shortly before 8:15 a.m. on southbound Highway 680 near Ygnacio Valley Road.
The pedestrians were hit on northbound I-680 as they tried to cross the lanes.
Both pedestrians suffered major injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.
Only one northbound lane is blocked but traffic is slow in both directions of I-680.
