MILPITAS (KRON) — Two men are behind bars Wednesday night accused of stealing a vehicle and possession of narcotics.

Carlos Gonzalez-Nunez, 24, and Richard Vallejo, 41, both of San Jose, were arrested in Milpitas last week. Around 8 p.m. last Tuesday, a Milpitas police officer found a stolen Dodge Ram with both men inside.

Police said they found narcotics and a gun.

They were arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of narcotics for sale, committing a felony while out on bail and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, police said.

Gonzalez-Nunez was also booked on suspicion of possession of the stolen truck and possession of narcotic paraphernalia, police said.

At 8:02 p.m. on March 1, a Milpitas police officer was patrolling the area of the Executive Inn at 95 Dempsey Road when he located a stolen Dodge Ram occupied by two men.

Police said the men, later identified as Gonzalez-Nunez and Vallejo, exited the truck and quickly began to walk away.

The officer was able to stop the men and arrest them without incident.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located two ounces of methamphetamine and a loaded .38-caliber semi-automatic pistol magazine.Bay City News contributed to this report
