Two arrested following car chase through Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA (KRON) — Two people were arrested Monday morning, following a chase on the northbound U.S. Highway 101 through Santa Rosa earlier in the day.

CHP officer Jon Sloat said it started when the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet truck with expired registration failed to pull over for a traffic stop around 8:40 a.m., near the Hearn Avenue exit.

After a short chase, the truck hit a wall while exiting on the Baker Avenue off-ramp. Following the crash, the male drive and a female passenger ran away.

The CHP called the Santa Rosa Police Department for help searching for the two, who were found on the roof of a Mexican restaurant near the Denny’s restaurant on Santa Rosa Avenue.

The driver, Ian Neville, 29, of Santa Rosa, who suffered minor injuries in the crash, was arrested on suspicion of felony warrants for robbery, grand theft and obstructing police in Marin County, Sloat said.

Casandra Rawls, 28, of Novato, also suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of a no bail warrant in Marin County.

They were treated at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and will be booked into Sonoma County Jail on the warrants and on suspicion of resisting or delaying officers, Sloat said.

Neville also faces felony evasion offenses, Sloat said.
