OAKLAND (KRON) — At 8:30 p.m., protesters marched onto Interstate 880 in downtown Oakland along the Broadway off ramp.
Both north and southbound were completely shut down. The freeway has since been reopened.
Demonstrators are protesting in Oakland on Thursday evening against recent police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.
Some even went on top of cars on the freeway.
The protest, called by the groups Live Free and the Anti-Police Terror Project, started at 7 p.m. at Frank Ogawa Plaza.
