SAN RAMON (KRON) — Twin sisters are known to share a lot throughout their lives, but a $6 million lottery prize is not something you hear every day.
Lisa Toton bought two $10 Set For Life tickets from the Fast & Easy Mart on Crow Canyon Road in San Ramon.
When she found out she won, Toton immediately texted her fraternal twin sister Laura Poorman, “Jackpot Scratcher, come home. $6 million, I’m shaking!”
That was enough to get Poorman to leave work and meet her sister at the East Bay District Office where they jointly claimed their prize.
The sisters, who have been playing since they were 18, plan to do different things with their prizes. Toton wants to possibly purchase a vacation home and buy a black GMC Vandura cargo van like the one used in the popular “A-Team” television series. Her sister Laura wants to pay off student loans and buy a house.
The twins have the option of taking the $6 million prize spread out over 25 years in monthly payments of $20,000 or they can get a lump sum amount of $3,480,000 before federal taxes.
Even split in half, that’s not too bad.
The Fast & Easy Mart where the ticket was purchased will receive a $30,000 retailer bonus.
