TURLOCK (KRON) — A restaurant in Colin Kaepernick’s hometown of Turlock has removed a hot dog named after the San Francisco 49ers quarterback from its menu.

The hot dog shop Footers removed the Colin Kaepernick hot dog after the quarterback refused to stand for the National Anthem.

Kaepernick has received an uproar of criticism for what he calls a protest of police brutality.

Footers named the hot dog Colin Kaepernick right before the Superbowl.

The shop’s owner says she took down the name to remove the restaurant from the controversy.

She also says she has received mix responses since taking down the name.

At this time, she does not plan on changing the name back.
