BRENTWOOD (BCN) — A collision involving a truck hauling pesticides on state Highway 4 in Brentwood Monday morning triggered a hazardous materials response, Contra Costa County hazardous materials officials said.
The California Highway Patrol initially received a report at 9:23 a.m. that up to three vehicles collided on eastbound Highway 4 near the Lone Tree Way off-ramp.
Contra Costa Hazardous Materials Programs was notified around 9:45 a.m. that a truck carrying pesticides overturned, according to the county department.
A hazmat team responded and determined that the vehicle, which had many small containers of residential pesticides, was not leaking any hazardous materials.
The county’s hazmat crews remained at the scene to assist in cleanup of vehicle fluids from the crash.
At least one person suffered minor injuries in the collision, according to the CHP.
