Officials say a person who was trespassing on Caltrain tracks in Palo Alto was fatally hit by a northbound train Saturday morning.
It happened just after 10:15 a.m. at the California Avenue Caltrain Station.
Officials say no injuries to the nearly 600 passengers onboard the train have been reported at this time. Those passengers have been off-boarded at the Palo Alto station, according to officials.
Earlier Saturday, trains were single tracking through the area with speed restrictions. Just before 2 p.m., officials reported both tracks have been opened at full speed.
