ALAMO (KRON)—The wet weather is causing trees to topple over and cause neighboring damage.
KRON4’s Alecia Reid shows us a back yard that took hours to get cleaned up.
“I went outside and thought, I can’t believe, I can’t believe what I’m seeing,” said Alamo resident Jackie Good.
While having dinner Saturday night, Good was shaken. The 250-year-old Oak tree in her back yard uprooted.
“It was so loud at first it was like an explosion,” Good said.
It ripped up concrete, broke through the fence and fell onto her neighbor’s property.
“It’s a mess, a horrible mess,” Good said.
Terry’s Tree Service broke the tree down bit by bit and got rid of it. The crash parts of the roof above the home’s storage room.
“It tore off all the siding on the back of the house,” she said.
Good says a couple years ago she noticed the tree started leaning. Now with all the wet weather we’ve been getting, the tree is now gone.
“The hole is very deep,” she said. “They’ll have to fill it up, and I don’t think I’ll ever plant anything there again.”
The homeowner is now dealing with all the charges that come with cleaning this up. She says she’s grateful no one was hurt.Stay with KRON4 News on air, online and our mobile app for updates on this developing story.
