OAKLAND (KRON) — The names of two transients found dead at an Oakland homeless encampment have been released.
The Alameda County coroner’s bureau identified Thomas Bartells, 57, and Kathrin Bartells, 53, as the deceased.
Officials say the pair was camped near a parking lot under Interstate Highway 580 on Lake Park Avenue between Grand and Lakeshore
avenues.
They were found dead Tuesday afternoon at around 5:10 p.m.
Initial reports indicated that foul play was not a factor in their deaths.
