SAN JOSE (KRON)—A train trestle fire has been reported in San Jose Wednesday afternoon.
The flames broke out in the area of E. Julian St. and Wooster Ave. around 4 p.m.
It was burning close to some homes just off Interstate 101.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire
The heavy smoke was caused by creosote soaked into the wooded trestle. It also fueled the fire.
People at a nearby senior living center, an apartment complex and several homes were told to shelter in place while crews worked to put out the fire.
