EAST PALO ALTO (KRON) — A traffic stop in East Palo Alto led to an arrest of a Menlo Park man in connection with the alleged sale of drugs, according to authorities.
Menlo Park Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop Thursday at around 12:30 p.m. on Collins’ vehicle in the area of Clarke Avenue and Bay Road in East Palo Alto.
The suspect Jameel Collins, 36, was arrested on multiple charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, child endangerment and possession of heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana and prescription painkillers for sale.
During the stop, detectives located a concealed firearm, a digital scale and large quantities of marijuana, heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription painkillers all packaged for sale, police said.
Collins’ 5-year-old child was also in the vehicle and within reach of the marijuana, police said.
Collins was also found to be out on bail for a prior drug sales charge.Bay City News contributed to the report
