LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida woman was arrested for possession of meth after deputies say a 2-year-old boy in her care was found walking in the road, wearing only a soiled diaper.
A witness called 911 around 4 p.m. on Monday after seeing the toddler walking in the roadway outside her home. The only clothing the boy was wearing was a soiled diaper. Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies say that due to his young age, the toddler could not tell them where he lived.
Detectives estimated the toddler had been wandering alone for one hour. They discovered the boy had come from a residence occupied by Wulff. She responded to the door after deputies made multiple announcements that they were at the home.
When Wulff came to the door, deputies say she had slurred speech and was slightly incoherent. She told deputies that a friend had come over the night before and they smoked meth and drank wine.
She told deputies she did not sleep the previous night, but laid down for a nap with the baby around 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon. She told deputies she did not know that the baby had left the residence. The child was not hers. The boy was left in her care.
Deputies say they found meth and a clear pipe with meth residue in the home. Wulff was arrested and charged with one count of negligent child abuse, one count of possession of meth and one count of possession of paraphernalia.
