LOS ANGELES (AP) – A toddler was found alive in the wreckage of a car that rolled over in Los Angeles, killing the woman who was driving.
Witness Emanuel Savinon tells KABC-TV he and others ran to help early Wednesday and pulled out an empty child’s car seat.
He says he then was surprised to see the little girl’s silhouette as she stood by the driver, and he gently pulled her out.
Paramedics took her to a hospital for examination.
Police Capt. Edward Pape tells KTTV that security videos are being used in the investigation. He says it appears a car traveling at high speed struck the woman’s car, causing her to lose control. That car and another stopped briefly but left.
The victim is identified only as a 31-year-old local resident.
