BAY AREA (KRON) — Thousands of Bay Area residents are still without power because of harsh weather conditions.

PG&E says 280,000 customers have been affected by weather-related outages since storms began on Wednesday. The utility company says power has been restored to 94 percent of those customers — though more than 10,000 residents are still experiencing outages as of 5 p.m. tonight.

At the height of the storms, PG&E says roughly 82,608 Bay Area residents lost power because of floods, mudslides and overall weather conditions.

The company says they have more than 120 crews working to restore power to customers still affected.

An additional 6,388 customers on the Central Coast have also lost power.

Right now, it’s unclear when power will be fully restored, but PG&E is asking customers to be patient.
