A high-end athletic wear store is the target of several high-profile thefts.
And now, police have taken to social media posting videos of the crimes in hopes of cracking the case.
In this month alone, this Berkeley store has been hit six times.
It all goes down so fast. Surveillance video captures the suspects open up their bags and starting grabbing garments. Within minutes, they take dozens of expensive items at this Lululemon store in Berkeley and race out.
“They are fast,” Berkeley police officer Byron White said. “This is the sixth time in one month…four are related.”
Berkeley police are releasing video in hopes that someone recognizes one of the members of the ring and reports them.
And it is isn’t just at this store. Nearly $100,000 in merchandise has been taken in recent heists. Shoppers say they are not really surprised.
Shoppers KRON4 talked with said Lululemon is an expensive brand.
But another factor may have led to the heists.
“We believe the proximity to the freeway and corner store make it easier to rip off,” White said.
The store did not have an official comment about the thefts. In the meantime, police are keeping a careful eye on this store, and they have this message if you are in a place a crime like this happens in front of you.
“Be a good witness, don’t get involved,” White said. “No one has been hurt, and we want it to stay like that.”
