The Pathway Home (TPH) announced Sunday that it won’t be returning to the veterans facility in Yountville after a deadly hostage situation in March.
TPH has occupied the Veterans Home of California since 2008. The facility has been closed since three mental health workers were killed on Mar. 9 by an ex-patient who had served in Afghanistan.
The organization will terminate its lease with the veterans home, effective Aug. 31.

Veterans who were in TPH’s care will continue to receive treatment through Mentis, Napa’s Center for Mental Health Services.
Mentis has hired one of TPH’s clinicians, easing the transition into the new program and helping to ensure continuity of care.
TPH is providing a handoff to a similar program operated by the Veterans Administration Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS).
The treatment center shares TPH’s mission to support veterans in a residential setting as they reintegrate into civilian life.
