BRENHAM, TX (WCMH) – Police say the worker’s son was in custody for a serious offense, which caused her not to provide service for the officer.
According to KPRC, the incident shocked the community because the McDonald’s had always supported law enforcement.
“We live in a community that is very supportive of the police department, a community that comes together to help each other out, and we have this great relationship, a great partnership,” said Brenham Police Chief Craig Goodman.
A manager did eventually step in to take the officer’s order when the worker refused, and McDonald’s says it was an isolated incident.
Brenham Police say they don’t hold a grudge. “We are not going to judge the behavior of one employee by actions of one employee and say all McDonald’s employees feel the same way,” said Goodman.
The employee was fired immediately after the incident.
