NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Nashville mother was arrested late Tuesday night for the 2014 death of her infant son.
Brandy Stewart, 34, was taken into custody at her Berkley Drive home in Madison around 11 p.m.
On May 18, 2014, Stewart’s 9-month-old son, who was unresponsive, was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. The baby boy died a short time later.
At the time, police said Stewart was unable to provide detectives with information regarding what happened to her baby due to obvious drug impairment.
A lengthy investigation alleges that Stewart’s impairment while caring for the baby was a significant contributing factor in his death.
Stewart faces first-degree murder and child neglect charges.
She is currently being held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
