SAN MATEO (KRON) — Police in the South Bay arrested four teenagers accused of breaking into a cars into a San Mateo neighborhood Thursday night. 

The suspects were spotted walking together just before 9 p.m. Thursday night in the area of Hurlingham and West Bellevue Avenues in San Mateo, police say. A witness told police the teens were wearing dark clothing, carrying flashlights and looking into cars on the street. 

When officers responded to the area, they found a burglarized car with a broken window. Police later spotted the suspects in the neighborhood. 

Three of the four suspects were released to their parents, each on facing various charges, including possession of stolen property, second degree burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime. 

The fourth teenage suspect was booked on similar charges and an additional juvenile probation violation charge. That suspect was booked into juvenile hall. Police say his parents were unavailable. 

The suspects range from 13-years-old to 15-years-old.
