SONOMA COUNTY (KRON) — A Santa Rosa teen is in the hospital after being involved in a car accident Wednesday morning.
16-year-old Kyle Brittain was driving a 1995 Ford F-150 west on River Road west of Wohler Road around 7 a.m when the accident happened.
The Ford crossed into the eastbound lane of River Road into the path of a Toyota Sequoia driven by Audra Peterson, 47, who swerved off the road and sideswiped a tree on the right shoulder CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.
The Ford truck also swerved off the right side of River Road and struck a tree off the right shoulder, Sloat said.
Peterson was not injured, while Brittain suffered major facial injuries, Sloat said. He was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.
