SAN RAMON (KRON) — A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after a being hit by a car in San Ramon on Saturday, according to police.
The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. near Dougherty Valley High School.
Police believe the boy was skateboarding when he was hit, as they found as skateboard at the scene.
The boy was airlifted to Children’s Hospital Oakland where he remains in critical condition.
The driver was cooperative with police, officers said.
While investigating the incident, police closed Bollinger Canyon Road to westbound traffic for several hours starting just before 8:30 p.m.
Initially police closed Bollinger Canyon west of Blueheart Way before extending the closure to Albion Road just before 9 p.m.
