Tech Trends: What to expect at Apple’s spring press event on March 21

CUPERTINO (KRON) — Apple announced Thursday morning that their spring press event will take place on March 21 in Cupertino.

The event will kick off at 10 a.m. at their headquarters, but like usual, Apple has yet to disclose any details on what kind of announcements they will make.

So what should we expect?

Typically, Apple uses these press events to unveil their new products. So if you’re looking to buy a new Apple product, it’s best to wait until after their events to ensure that you buy the latest product.

It’s also likely that Apple will address the Apple vs. FBI case at the event.

Last year in March, Apple revealed the Apple Watch to the world. There’s talk that the Apple Watch 2 may next, but most rumors say it won’t be ready until fall.

If Apple decided to reveal a new iPad, it would likely be an iPad Air Pro. A 9.7 inch ‘iPad Air 3’ or ‘iPad Air Pro’ could have more upgraded features like the iPad Pro but would be cheaper and have a smaller screen.

A new iPad Air could have the larger iPad Pro’s quad-speaker design. It might come with added support for Apple Pencil, go up from the A8X and M8 chips to the A9X and M9 chips, and have a possible Smart Connector, or perhaps a rear flash for the camera, which would be a first for any iPad yet.

Rumors are buzzing of a phone possibly called ‘iPhone SE’. The new iPhone would likely be a smaller, cheaper, and newer version of the iPhone 6 or 6s.

The ‘iPhone SE’ would be a 4-inch phone that would replace the iPhone 5s. Kind of like a newer version of the iPhone 5c. A cheaper device for those who want some of the newer features but want a cheap $100 iPhone and don’t mind the small screen.

Rumors also suggest the ‘iPhone SE’ will look like the iPhone 5s, but it will include new internal hardware that brings it closer to the newer Apple devices. It could have an A9 chip, an improved camera, and NFC support for use with Apple Pay.
