SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A local startup is using their technology to help track the Zika virus at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
The device being used by athletes is the Kinsa, the first FDA-approved app-enabled smart thermometer.
It works with and in conjunction with smartphones, and helps groups of people, like the athletes in the Olympic village, track fevers and symptoms in the area.
KRON4’s Tech Reporter Gabe Slate met with the company behind this, and he said this product is something parents should know about and consider using.
