SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The Golden Gate Bridge is seeing an increase in teens and young adults jumping and committing suicide.

Since the year 2000, the number of troubled people under 25 years old showing up to consider ending their life has increased more than five-fold.

So, they have teamed up with the National Crises Text Hotline and put up these signs up all over the bridge, 30 in total, hoping that young people will text for help.

KRON’s Tech Reporter Gabe Slate met with a crises text counselor and learned that this is a resource that parents, teens, and anyone suffering from depression should know about.
