SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — KRON 4 News tech reporter Gabe Slate attended day two of Facebook’s f8 tech show.
The keynote was all about virtual reality. Facebook thinks virtual reality is the next evolution of the timeline.
For example, say you get a birthday video and some family living across country missed the event, you could post a VR video on your newsfeed and your relative wearing the virtual reality headset would be able to experience the event like they were actually there.
Gabe Slate got a demo with their latest prototype headset and it was it was mind blowing… it was like being inside a movie. You turn your head around 360 degrees and you are inside a different environment.
You completely forget where you are. Without a doubt, this is absolutely the way we will play video games, and watch movies and TV shows in our living rooms in the future.
It was so immersive, the experience was like going from only listening to radio your whole life and then seeing a TV for the first time.
