Why are you nominating this educator?: My daughter Driana is/was a high school Jr. student in her class. She is the only teacher to request a conference with me to discuss my daughter’s grades, behavior & what can be done for her to progress in her class. I had a long talk with her and at times Driana world be kinda sassy and was getting on my nerves. Mrs. Balthazar simply stepped in and asked Driana to take some breaths so we could continue the meeting. She was very patient with my daughter. She came up with a plan to help Driana progress in her class, allowed her to complete missing assignments & stayed in communication with me via email. Driana was suspended May 5 and Mrs. Balthazar emailed constantly to provide her with work, gave us her current grade status and commended Driana the work she’s done. I need her to be recognized because there hasn’t been any teachers at Fairfield High to show any interest in my daughter’s success. I appreciate her for all of her help, patience and understanding.
