A man has been arrested for vandalizing vehicles and assaulting victims with a sword late Monday night in Santa Rosa.

Around 11:49 p.m. police officers were called to the 500 block of West 9th Street where a victim said several windows of his parked car were broken out by a man with a sword.
Officials say when another victim attempted to intervene, the suspect struck his leg with the sword.
After getting to the scene, officers could not find the suspect.
A short time later, around 12:35 a.m., officers received another call about a stabbing on the 500 block Palominos Drive.
Officials say this is about 300-feet away from the first reported incident.

Authorities say two neighbors were arguing, one of which was in a parked car.
The suspect had broken the window of the car and stabbed the victim in the face which caused a moderate injury, officials say.
Police were able to detain the suspect and found a three-foot rusty sword nearby.
The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Brian Rivas-Lagunes and has been booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility for assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.
