FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) – Police say an SUV darted through a Massachusetts auto auction, striking other cars, patrons and a cinder block wall and injuring eight people.

The chaos unfolded around 10 a.m. Thursday inside ADESA Boston, an expansive facility in Framingham where manufacturers, lenders, insurance companies and others sell off vehicles.

Framingham police Lt. Stephen Cronin says none of the injuries are considered life-threatening, but one person was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

Police say the man behind the wheel was a 78-year-old contract driver for the auction.

Cronin says the man drove through an auction lane inside the building, struck five cars and several people before crashing into the wall – which fell on the man who was taken from the scene by helicopter.

No charges have been filed.
