SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Police have deemed a suspicious package in San Francisco as safe on Thursday morning, according to police.
Police responded to the area of Mission and Fremont streets on a report of a suspicious package at around 8 a.m.
Officer found the package and inspected it. A bomb squad also responded to the scene and helped inspect the package.
Police say there is no threat to the public and that the report of a bomb had no merit.
Residents were asked to avoid the area. The police activity caused traffic delays in the city and on I-80.
