WINDSOR (KRON) — A suspicious package in a planter near the front of the Windsor Regional Library prompted the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office’s bomb squad to respond on Monday morning.

The package was located at 9291 Old Redwood Highway, near the library. Inside of it? Chocolate chip candy, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Cecile Focha.

Someone reported the package to Windsor Police around 9:30 a.m. No one was allowed in the area around the time of the investigation.

Within an hour of using a water shot, the bomb squad determined that the package was unlikely to be dangerous, Focha said.Bay City News contributed to this report.
