PALO ALTO (BCN) — Police released a sketch Tuesday that depicts one of two men wanted for burglarizing a home in Palo Alto late last week, when they fled
from a resident who caught them inside.
The suspects broke into a home in the 1300 block of Dana Avenue, where officers responded to a report of a residential burglary around 5:50 p.m. Thursday, police said.
The man in the sketch was seen by the front door of the home wearing orange shorts and a gray T-shirt, according to police.
A woman in her 60s was alone in her home where she heard a crash from the front of the residence, police said.
When the woman went to check on the noise she saw someone kicked into her front door and a man she didn’t recognize, police said.
As the woman yelled at and startled the man, another suspect was seen going down the stairs from the home’s second floor, according to police.
The suspects fled through the front door without any property from the home and the woman last saw them head east on Dana Avenue toward Center Drive, police said.
The suspects are described as dark-skinned men who were possibly Polynesian, in their 20s or 30s, about 6 feet tall and around 250 pounds, according to police.
The suspect who was seen at the stairs was dressed in dark shorts or pants and a top that had a stripe or another type of mark, police said.
