SAN LEANDRO (BCN) — Four suspects have been arrested in a brutal April bar brawl in San Leandro that left three men with serious stab wounds, police announced Thursday.
The fight at Shilo’s bar at 991 Manor Blvd. was reported at 8:41 p.m. on April 16. Three men between 29 and 36 years old were each stabbed in the upper torso and suffered punctured lungs that required surgery, according to San Leandro police.
Surveillance footage at the bar and interviews with witnesses led police to identify several suspects in the stabbing.
The first, identified as 47-year-old Duane Grisso of San Leandro, was arrested the afternoon of April 22 in San Lorenzo. Police also arrested his 20-year-old son later that night in Oakland but he was released without charges.
Police then obtained arrest warrants for three more suspects, identified as 19-year-old San Leandro resident Anthony Ridings, 21-year-old San Leandro resident Nicolas Wilbur and a 17-year-old San Lorenzo resident. The 17-year-old surrendered to police last Friday.
Alameda County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Ridings and Wilbur during a traffic stop in the 21000 block of Meekland Avenue in Cherryland on Tuesday. Wilbur ran from the traffic stop, but was captured after a search of the surrounding neighborhood using police dogs. He was injured during his arrest and taken to a hospital for treatment, according to San Leandro police.
Wilbur and Ridings each had court hearings scheduled for Thursday afternoon, according to jail records. Ridings is being held on $80,000 bail and Wilbur is being held without bail.
Grisso was released on bail and is scheduled to return to court on June 10, according to police. The 17-year-old’s name has not been released, though according to San Leandro police the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged him as an adult.
After the bar fight, investigators found a loaded 9mm pistol on the floor of the bar. They determined the gun belonged to one of the three stabbing victims and the district attorney’s office is considering charging him with carrying a concealed firearm, according to police.
