SANTA CLARA (KRON) — A man was arrested in a suspected drunk driving collision after crashing into a house in Santa Clara Thursday night, according to police.
Police responded to a report of a car crash at around 10:36 p.m. near the intersection of Lewis and Lafayette.
Upon arrival, police found that two cars were involved and one car had struck a light pole before crashing into the house.
The crash had knocked over the traffic light pushing it into the house through a window.
A father and son were inside the house sitting on the couch when the crash occurred. They were sprayed with glass but were not seriously injured.
According to the landlord, this is the third collision at this property since they have owned it.
Francisco Cortezcruz, the driver of the black car, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. He is facing a felony DUI charge and a hit and run charge.
Cortezcruz’s passenger is facing a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.
